Favorites of the Week 2!

So as I did this weeks favorites, I realized its going to be really hard to have that many favorites every week- especially since I am on a graduate student loan budget :/, with that said, I am going to turn it into monthly favorites (next one will be for march). This week has been a stressful week in school but I have managed to survive! Hope you guys enjoy this post, and as always, post your favorites or let me know what you think!

I found this picture via pinterest and just FELL IN LOVE! I love this color and the pleats! Such a cute look for this Spring/Summer! I am really into neons/bright colors right now!

I have never found a foundation that I loved until now...I had used bare minerals for a long time, then tried Neutrogena Healthy Skin and sampled Chanel's foundation, but nothing compares to this! It is full coverage and it does not take much at all! My skin looked so so so good and I have a lot of scars/red pigmentation. It really does make my skin look smooth/silk-like. Cons: $43 :( BUT- it is going to last a long time and I have never loved my skin more! (Laura Mercier- Silk Creme Foundation)

I am new to Paint Pots and actually tried these before MAC's. My favorite is the bronze- I wear it about every day to class and they last all day without creases! The colors are really pigmented and gorgeous! You do not need primer for these and you can use the white one as a highlighter for your brow bone and inner corners! (Maybelline Color Tattoo)

The stress of this week has also brought on many breakouts for me as well and I heard about this little concealer stick by Maybelline (Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer) on a beauty vlog. I didn't really have a good concealer so I decided to try it and LOVED it! It is a little brush at one end, and on the other end you twist for liquid concealer to come out of the brush. It really covered blemishes well and I also used it under my eyes which brightened my face.

I was having a really bad craving this last week but I decided to try this mango pineapple smoothie at Mcdonalds. I am definitely not a Mcdonalds fan, but I saw this on a sign and was intrigued. It had the best flavor and tasted like something you would get at a Jamba Juice type of place. I do feel like it may be loaded with sugar though, but it was better than what I was about to go for :)

I picked up this candle at target because the label caught my eye, but the smell...OH MY GOODNESS! I carried it around with me through the entire store smelling it every other step! Its a little bit floral, but smells like a perfume that I have smelled (can't think of the name though). It is pretty large and only $12!

I decided to paint my nails this neutral color I got as a Christmas gift and really liked it! It is Sephora by OPI (vernes a angles). The ring is from Forever 21.

P.S.- For my next post I AM TOO EXCITED! It will be on the Grammy's fashion! This is my favorite awards show and favorite fashion because I really think artists take more risks and you see some of the  craziest outfits, but also the most beautiful! Hope you guys are as excited as me!

Valentines Day!

This year I will be spending this Valentine's Day with girlfriends and I have not really been one to be bitter when not having a true Valentine. I find it as a day of love for everyone! Below are some favorite dresses/looks/and random things I love for this years Valentines Day!

I love the bun and makeup here with this cute little dress by French Connection via asos.com. Very feminine and pretty!

Kate Beckinsale would be any makeup artist's dream to work with I'm sure. She is absolutely FLAWLESS! I love her makeup here and then I love this little BCBG dress with it for a Vday date!

What's Valentines Day without chocolate? My girlfriends and I have done a fondue before that was TO DIE FOR! We melted dark chocolate and served it with strawberries, bananas, pound cake, marshmellows, brownie bites, and pretzels! Fondue sets can be pretty cheap too- I think ours was a Valentines special at Target that you light a candle underneath.

I love these little Sally Hansen nail strips- Valentines limited edition. I have used a leopard set in the past and they went on so easily and lasted quit awhile! I just bought the hearts and am dying to put them on!

This is my favorite perfume at the moment! It is Flower Bomb by Viktor & Rolf and smells sooo good- floral and sexy!

This jumper was made famous by Jlo and Taylor Swift. It is by Wildfox and I think it is so cute! I don't own one but am dying to find one- they are really hard to find because they get sold out a lot!

And for my favorite Valentine's Day tradition...."He's Just Not That Into You"! I love this movie and the fact there are so many hot men!

Hope you guys have a great Valentines Day! Leave a comment below some of your Valentine's Day favorite, traditions you do, and what you will be doing this year! <3

Favorites of the Week!

I haven't done a weekly favorites, but I think this is something new I am going to try-pending how my school schedule is that week (don't count on it during finals :)). I am going to include favorite looks, makeup, products, accessories, and maybe food, shows...who knows! I would have to admit, I am someone who likes to try a bunch of different things because my interests change all the time! Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment on your favorite things!

I loved this dress (Andrew Gn) Rachel Mcadams wore out in NYC for press for "The Vow".

I am all about mixing prints this season- I have a leopard belt just like that and I cannot wait to pair it with florals! (found via pinterest)

I love this yellow blazer!
Such a cute look (found via pinterest) and we could totally be friends since she likes Starbucks ;)

Found this picture/outfit: http://what-do-i-wear.tumblr.com/post/16428489262 I just love this bc, again, the mixing of patters and the layering of arm candy!

Now, for products:

I have to admit....this is the UGLIEST casing I have ever used, but I LOVE this mascara- and I have used most drugstore mascaras, Bad Gal and Bare Escentuals to name a few and I feel like this gave me a lot of volume and was not clumpy at all! I definitely recommend this mascara to anyone. Plus, if you are into being organic, this has no parabens :) The brand is Physicians Formula!

I love this MAC line (mineralize)- I have the blush on the far left and the eye shadow (far, bottom right-Summer Haze). These are shimmery and just so beautiful on!

This is my favorite nail color of the week. I know, I know, it is still winter and we are supposed to wear dark colors, but with this crazy weather I just had to! This is Wet n Wild's newest line and this color is "Refresh-A-Mint". I loved this nail polish, not only for the color, but it went on SO smoothly and I only needed 1 coat!

Now for food:
So I am a chocolate girl and these totally help my cravings! Heat them in the microwave and they taste like a warm brownie (no joke!) and are only 100 calories! They are also a good size and packed with nutrients, not to mention whole grain!

So, I am trying to be healthier and tone up since I am in a wedding in 4 months and I found this recipe for this smoothie on LaurenConrad.com. It is DELICIOUS and is SO healthy! Now, before I tell you what is in it, do not be fooled by the color. All you taste is the fruit and I felt like it gave me so much energy! I am drinking one every morning and feel so much better throughout the day! Okay, so now for what's in it:

1 banana
1/2cup of frozen mango
1/2cup of frozen peaches
1 handful of raw spinach
ice if need be
enough water to blend
(for 1 serving)

Favorite Song:

So, if you love E! you may have heard this for the Khloe and Lamar/ Ice Loves Coco promo and I was curious about it so I googled it and it is Chris Mann, "L.O.V.E.". I have never heard of him before but I am OBSESSED with this song (plus Khloe and Lamar just looked so cute dancing to it!)
Hope you guys like it as much as me :)

Also, I want to share with you my favorite YouTube beauty gurus- I blame them on my frequent CVS/Sephora trips:

SAG Awards: Best/Worst/Okay/Eh/Over it!

So of course I watched the SAG Awards and here are my thoughts: I was surprised with the amount of black! I was hoping for more color and daring choices, instead I felt too many were blah or I've seen it before! Below are the dresses I want to discuss, including my thoughts on the outfit and who I thought was the best and worst.

So Ashlee Simpson is not my best dressed, but I would say this is the best dressed I have seen her! I loved her hair like that! (Okay)

We are all aware cutouts are big right now- we got that from Rooney Mara- but I just did not like the hair! Makeup is pretty and her body is AMAZING but the hair was a bit too high for me. (Eh)

I know most will disagree with me but I DID NOT like this dress! The material looks like a trashbag, her hair and makeup was just okay, and I felt like she looks miserable! A big part of watching the awards is how someone carries themselves and she just looks cold (not temp. wise) and needs a burger! Not to mention...BLACK- too safe! (Worst)

So Stacy is one lucky gal, but I also feel like she is playing it safe. The red dress for the Emmys and now this. Yes, I do like it- I think she looks glam and beautiful, I was just hoping for more! (Okay)

Ahhhhh! So refreshing to see this color! I loved the braid in her hair and this dress! I thought it was age-appropriate and just beautiful! (Best)

COLOR! Green is one of my favorite colors and I thought this color looked so good on her! On TV she was carrying herself very awkwardly, but I thought she looked gorgeous! (Best)

Well....I just don't know what to think about this one. I feel like we have seen this gown so much in so many colors and I HATE the braid in her hair! Diana Agron's is the right size- hers just looks so fake! Definitely NOT a best dressed for me, but not a worst. (Eh)

I thought this hair color for Kristin Wig is magnificent! her makeup is so pretty too- her eyes POP out! The thing about this dress is that I just wish the choker was somehow attached to her dress at the neck. For me, that would have made a HUGE difference! (Okay)

So, I don't know if my feelings of her Emmy dress are just carrying over but I HATED this! She is trying WAY too hard (and I promise I think she is great on Glee and love her otherwise). Her Emmy dress was way too sexy and I feel like she is trying to do that here as well- and it may also have to do with the faces she makes. I just wasn't a fan. (Over it!)

I loved this look for Michelle Williams! I thought it was so different and that is what I like to see on the carpet. The color, lace, and hem of the dress were very classy and sophisticated. (Best)

Okay, okay, okay...so I know this is black, but I loved it! I should have posted a picture of the back too- was covered in a black lace. I thought this dress along with her hair color was glamorous and definitely made her look like a star! (Best)

What can I say...of course I loved this dress! (Best)

Another Glee got it right! I loved this look on Naya Rivera. She looks beautiful and again, age-appropriate. (Best)

This is another that I would just have to say I am over. I know, again, people will disagree from me, but when I saw her I was just like OF COURSE she is wearing that. Many of her dresses are solid-colored, a lot (not all I know) but a lot are strapless, simple, and curve hugging- but if I had that body I would probably do it too. I was just hoping for something different from her, but I do have to give her props for at least doing color. (Over it)

So, part of me liked this but most of me didn't. I like that she took a risk, I do, but...I just don't like that pattern- looks like an old-lady bathing suit! Maybe I would think differently if it wasn't the red carpet (or maybe not), but I do give her props for standing out! (Eh)

Beautiful! Gorgeous! Glam! I thought she looked great! (Best)

Ugh! I hate that Rachel Zoe loved this so much- because normally I agree with her and of course love/respect her so much but this was a major NO for me. I felt like the top/cape thing was meshy-looking and it looked like a wife-beater (type of tank top for those who are unaware with that terminology) underneath! (Worst) I do think Zoe Saldana is GORGEOUS though!
LOVE LOVE LOVE! When we first saw this (up close), I though, oh that's nice, but then when the "glam cam" panned down I was like WOW! I love that she took such a risk wearing a jumper! (Best!)

No, no, no, nooooo! What was she thinking? Where is her stylist? This is SO not appropriate for the Red Carpet! (WORST!)

So obviously these are my opinions...now, I want to hear what you guys think! Please leave a comment and I would love to hear who you thought got it right and who you just did not like!
