Oh How I Love DVF

Ever since I saw my first Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress, I fell in love! I told myself once I make the big bucks, I am going to purchase my first one. She really knows how to flatter a woman's shape and her use of colors and patterns are amazing. Also, I think her clothing appeals to women from 20+. Women of all ages can look fabulous in DVF. Here are a few of my favorite looks from her Fall 2011 collection:

Comfort Meets Style

When it gets cold, I tend to cling towards "frumpier" styles of clothing such as hoodies, baggy pants, baggy shirts, etc... Although, I will NEVER give up my hoodies, it IS possible to look chic and stylish while also being comfortable. I love to wear leggings with a longer top (girls- leggings are not pants- must cover your bum!) paired with some ankle boots or flats. Below are some favorite looks for the fall that are flattering and comfy.

Here, Kim is looking beautiful and glam as always, pairing leggings with boots and a long white cardigan. Perfect for the airport and shopping!

According to Selena's stylist, she loves long flowy tops with skinny jeans or leggings.

When I think of Jessica Alba, I think of amazing chunky scarfs. I love this look!

Minka Kelly, shown above, looks cute and comfy with an over-sized fringe cardigan. Looks so cute!

Obviously I had to put Kourtney in my blog, it wouldn't be the same if I didnt! Here, she looks effortless and glam. Below is how you can achieve this look:

Finally, finish it off with a simple, bold color, or print flat! If it gets chilly, throw on a cape! Loving capes this fall. Below are some favorites:

In the words of Rachel Zoe, "I die" for these chic loafers (you know I had to feature the leopard ones :))

or...go for one of the more simpler colors

and throw on a fun cape:
Left (I own this one!): Forever 21, Right: Urban Outfitters

This is probably my FAVORITE look! Maybe because I love the fall and pumpkin lattes?

Winter Hats

I am dying to find a fun hat for this fall/winter season. The floppy hat, not just for the beach, makes a great statement to any outfit. Usually in felt and suede, just like the wide-brimmed fedora (another fave), these trendy hats can help create a rocker vibe or bring out some sass to your outfit. Below, you can see how different celebs pull off my favorite looks with these hats!

Here, Demi Lovato is wearing it my favorite way- probably the way I would wear it when/if I get mine! I love the grunge/chic look she is going for with the rocker tee and belt. Great for a day out shopping!

I think it is safe to say Rachel Zoe is the queen of this look. No one can pull off a look better with this hat than she can. Plus, I have a rule, if Rachel Zoe wears it, its MAJ (get it zoe fans?)!

Here, Kim looks stunning in the floppy hat. She could wear a baseball hat and looks amazing, but I love how she paired the fur vest with it!

Another of my favorite fashionistas, Nicole Richie totally rocks this hat with leather booties and a leopard scarf.

With so many ways to wear these hats, it is a must to have this season! Here are a few places to purchase this trendy accessory:

Splurge at Free People

H&M- actually almost bought this one and kicking myself for not...only 14.95!

Cat eyes

As someone who loves sunglasses and always looking for new and different styles,  I love the cat eye sun glass trend right now! I just bought my first pair at Urban Outfitters similar to these:

But I love the futuristic ones from Threadsence too for a bit of an edgier look!
Here are a few celebs who are rockin the cat eye look:
JLo, Nicole Richie, Anne Hathaway

 Kourtney Kardashian

Somethin's smellin fishy....

So sad that I can't be apart of this trendy do (because of my short hair), but I'm lovin it, and the messier the better!

The Fishtail braid!

A bit tricky, but I've finally learned how to do it! Here is a good link to learn how to do it yourself!

Celebs rockin the braid:

Ashley Tisdale

 Alicia Keys

 Minka Kelly

THE Blazer

Probably my favorite item this year...the blazer! You can dress it up (like Lauren Conrad) or dressy-casual (like Kourtney Kardashian) or go totally casual on the beach (like Katie Holmes with Suri).

However...blazers are no longer the basic black (as seen above), although that is a staple item to have. White blazers have been a huge trend this year, made big by the Kardashians. I love how Kourtney pairs it with a colorful romper or dress.

Now, lets get FUNKY! Blazers are also big in bold colors, sequins, textures and prints! Favorite Housewife, Kyle Richards rocks the sequin blazer as seen below. My favorite website to find the perfect blazer that will fit the style you are trying to achieve is zara.com! They really have EVERYTHING! Here are just a few:

Now, lets finish with more ways you can wear the blazer and how to accessorize. This fall, I am dying to wear my blazer with thick, funky scarves and a long dress underneath. Any shoe can be worn and really cool hats such as fedoras, beanies, and gaucho-like styles are perfect! Also, you can recycle your summer dresses by throwing them under the blazer (pair with tights if it gets too cold) and some flats! H&M and Urban Outfitters are also great places to find blazers as well. Get CREATIVE!

My Fall Must Haves!

Fall is my favorite time for fashion. I love layering, hats, scarves, gloves, jackets, blazers, boots, etc....

Here are a few items that I believe are a MUST to have (and I myself will be working on purchasing):

http://www.stevemadden.com/Item.aspx?id=57997&np=690_730
Love these bright flats! I would pair these with dark skinny jeans, and a black cardigan w/ a black tank. If you feel bold enough, pair with a leopard or patterned scarf!

....Speaking of leopard...Its definitely IN this fall! Im a tall girl, so I love flats! These would look great with jeans (blue or black) or pair with a black (red if you're daring enough) dress to give some attitude. Leopard is tricky because it can come off as tacky if you over-do it. I love to accessorize with it and this is one way of doing it right!

A year ago I probably would not have been on board with this fall trend- bold colored jeans. But thats why I love fashion- my opinion always changes and this year, I have seen it styled in a way that I love! From bright blues to burnt oranges and from jeans to cords, these fun colors make a LOUD statement. My color Im looking for is purple (seen here on Nicky Hilton). I would totally wear them just as she is or with a funky scarf and of course flats :) There are many at Urban Outfitters- all colors and styles!

Stay tuned for more....
